LED lights, introduced in 1962, are used in many different things. Flashlights, DVD players, remotes, and many other things. Recently, they’ve become more and more popular as light sources because they are up to 90% more energy efficient than incandescent lamps and 33% more efficient than fluorescent. With this new found popularity comes a new form. The LED lights, that can last up to 50,000 hours, now come in the classic recessed light bulb style (shown to the upper right) with a brushed nickel finish, a great match for your stainless steel appliances. They are also dimmable and will light in very cold locations. The trims come in a variety of different colors, including black, white, brass, specular, bright silver, glowing glasses, architectural artistry, and clear.
The LED light is the Energy Star award winner of 2010.
